Everything You Need to Know About Our Proven Candidate Discovery Process

Since our founding back in 2017, Franchise FastLane has carefully refined our proven candidate discovery process, helping our organization become the industry’s No. 1 franchise sales organization (FSO) 

Each step in this discovery process is meticulously tracked in our Frick and FastLane portal, a highly interactive dashboard that provides consultants (some 1,000+) with real-time data and up-to-date activities covering all stages of the franchise sales process. In 2023, we added a proprietary mapping tool, so consultants can check on the pending and completed sales for individual franchise brands in their own specific territories. WEEK 1 | Introductory Call

When candidates develop interest, their franchise consultant sends a formal lead-registration email to the brand’s sales support specialist. Following the receipt of this information, our franchise development support team will reach out directly to the candidate to coordinate an introductory call with the franchisor's specific Director of Franchise Development at Franchise FastLane. Prior to the intro call, the candidate will receive an email with a recording to watch of an intro call with the brand so the candidate can prepare questions for the intro call. On the intro call, the candidate has the opportunity to ask questions as the Director of Franchise Development establishes a relationship to better understand the candidate's motivation, goals, and lifestyle.

At the end of the call, the candidate and the Director of Franchise Development will talk about our Proven Discovery Process and the next steps if the candidate moves on.

 

WEEK 2 | Unit Economics Call

In this week's call, the Director of Franchise Development will strictly review the brand's FDD, including but not limited to Item 5, Item 7, and Item 19. They will also discuss funding options and the brand's franchise support systems. At the end of the call, the Director of Franchise Development will send out an email with the UE Workbook and the FDD (requires a signature upon receiving via Docusign).

 

WEEK 3 | FDD Review & Q&A Call

Once the FDD is signed, the Director of Franchise Development will schedule the FDD Review call to review the FDD item by item - providing accurate disclosures and information. The candidate will want to come prepared with all of their questions. Then, during the next several days/weeks, the candidate will start to receive validation and leadership call invitations to join and learn more about the franchise system.

 

WEEK 4 | Territory Mapping & Confirmation Day Invitation Call

The candidate is now midway through the Discovery Process and the Director of Franchise Development is now preparing them for Confirmation Day and mapping out the candidate's territory. During this call the Director will provide an analysis of available territory and where the boundary lines are set according to the franchise agreement. Once an agreement on the specific territory has been made, then the Director helps prepare the candidate for the upcoming Confirmation Day. Each candidate will join a Confirmation Day preparation call with one the dedicated VPs of Franchise Development to ensure they're as prepared as possible for their big day.

 

WEEK 5 | Confirmation Day

During Confirmation Day the candidate has a chance to meet the franchisor and their corporate team in person or virtually. We like to think of this time as a two-way job interview, where both the candidate and the franchisor team have the opportunity to get to know one another, ask questions and determine if they're a good fit to work together. During this time the candidate will get to see what a day in a life looks like, learn more about the systems in place to support them, and see everything in action.

WEEK 6 | Franchise Agreement Delivery

If everything goes smoothly during a candidate’s Confirmation Day, we arrange for the delivery of personalized franchise agreements, which are signed and returned, and fees transferred.

 

WEEK 7 | Welcome Call

In the final call with the candidate, we take a moment to celebrate this amazing occasion with the Franchisor. This is the final step in the FastLane Discovery Process, but the start of an amazing journey the candidate will be having with the Franchisor and their team.
