Derek had an early start in franchising through a QSR concept. He hit the ground running and grew to 7 locations with the purchase of 2 resale’s and 5 new territories.

In 2012 Derek took a Sales position with Paradise Grilling Systems, a manufacturing startup. He quickly grew to the sales director position while catapulting sales from 1mm to 30 mm annually.

During his tenure with PGS, the entrepreneurial itch returned. Derek is the Founder of SalonPLEX which opened its first location October 2014. SalonPLEX is a Salon Suites Concept with 4 locations open in Southwest Florida.

In 2018, Derek joined Franchise Fast Lane as Director of Franchise Development. Derek currently lives in Tampa, Florida with his wife Jennifer. His downtime is spent diving and fishing.
