FDD Refiling Season Keeps Franchise FastLane Busy 

While the month of April is well known as the deadline for filing income taxes, it’s also filing season of another kind – FDDs! And anyone in the franchising industry will tell you, the franchise disclosure document is among the most important assets brands use to communicate their value to qualified candidates. And just the same, candidates will relay how helpful the information is in the 23 different sections of an FDD. Since federal law requires franchisors to update their FDD on an annual basis within 120 days of their fiscal year end, the majority of brands are hard at work during the months of March and April. And Franchise FastLane is right alongside them, offering valuable advice on updates, disclosures, and regulations to keep our brands in compliance while presenting a best-case scenario to entrepreneurial candidates.  

 

Corporate Culture Highlights 

We take corporate culture seriously at Franchise FastLane – a place where it feels more like a family than an office of colleagues. Each month, our “Fun Team” committee plans meaningful events for our employees to enjoy and April saw two such outings. Since April includes the traditional holiday of Easter, FastLaners had the pleasure of participating in an old-fashioned egg hunt – which reminded all of us that it feels good to be a kid again sometimes! The “Fun Team” also scours cause calendar observations for interesting dates and created a companywide team walk to celebrate the American Heart Association’s National Walking Day on April 3. 

 

We Welcomed a New FastLaner to the Family 

April saw the onboarding of a new Franchise FastLane employee! Chris Miles joined the team as a new Director of Franchise Development. He’s married with a young daughter, self-identifies as a sports fanatic, and recently took up a new hobby - golf.

Franchise FastLane is Conference-Bound 

As the month of April closed out, Franchise FastLane sent a group of FastLaner’s to attend Franchise Sidekick’s SKIP Spring Adventure Conference in Charlotte, North Carolina. This regional networking event for franchise advisors came with a dose of fun, as attendees were treated to a thrilling session at the U.S. National Whitewater Rafting Center.

  • Gameday Men’s Health – here’s a FastLane brand that continues to demonstrate the sheer power of franchising. This low-T men’s health business model just added its 209th medical director to the brand and has now signed over 161 leases for Gameday clinics across the country.
 
  • Waxxpot - Since it has been launched Waxxpot has been featured in FranchiseWire, MarketWatch, and Franchising Magazine USA. FastLane's new brand is poised for success and ready to welcome new franchisees!

As we close out this edition of Franchise FastLane’s Rear View Mirror, we’d be remiss if we didn’t also mention the devastating tornado outbreak that hit the Nebraska and Iowa areas on April 26th. Our home office community was hit hard, but our community is working diligently to help those in need. If you or someone you know has been affected by this natural disaster, there are plenty of ways to secure assistance or donate to several relief funds. Thankfully, all Franchise FastLane employees and their families are safe and accounted for.
