The Brothers That Just Do Gutters started with two brothers, Ken and Ryan Parsons, recognizing a gaping hole in the gutter industry, which their model filled perfectly. They had successfully run a gutter business since 1999, but in 2015 decided it was time to franchise their business model. This brand is reinventing contractor services, providing a 5-star service in a 1-star industry.

Amy and Patrick couldn’t be more excited for this new adventure in business ownership, and they look forward to growing their business in the Omaha and Lincoln area.

Q: Amy, you get to see several different franchise brands in your line of work. What made you decide you wanted to franchise with The Brothers That Just Do Gutters?

A: The Brothers That Just Do Gutters was appealing because they offer a service to the community that is a need, not a want. The franchisor has a great support system in place for franchisees including business coaches, employee online training, marketing support and much more. Overall, we bought into the vision of the founders, Ryan and Ken Parsons, and the success that other franchisees were having.

Q:  How would you describe the initial process of training and getting your business started?

A: Our training consisted of a week-long, step-by-step training at the corporate office. We also had around two months of weekly calls leading up to training to ensure we had a foundation started in Omaha with all of the tools and office space we would need. From there, we were partnered with a seasoned general manager at one of the founding locations who guided us through all administrative and production processes, which really gave us a leg up in having initial success.

Q: What is the best part of owning a business?

A: The best part of owning a business is the ability to offer something great to the community and the freedom to know that we control our own success.

Q: What excites you about being a franchisee?

A: We are excited about being franchisees because we know that as the business grows, we will continue to have the franchisor's support and proven systems along the way to help us reach our goals.

Q:  Walk us through the franchisee support that The Brothers That Just Do Gutters offers.

A: Brothers Gutters’ support is fantastic. After a very detailed and helpful onboarding process, they also offer in-person training for new team members at the corporate office, online coursework for new hires, a personal business coach, marketing and call center support and a myriad of bestpractice processes within the construction industry (just to name a few). The support that The Brothers and the corporate office provides is phenomenal.

Q: Tell us about the culture of this brand.

A: The culture set by The Brothers truly is a family-like atmosphere. You can call anyone in the company at any time and get the advice or help that you need. The Brothers themselves offer a culture of support and motivation that continues to make you want to come to work every day and succeed.

Q: What sets The Brothers That Just Do Gutters apart as a business opportunity?

A:  The support that Brothers Gutters gives at the corporate level is unmatched compared with the other brands that we looked at. The business model is fairly simple and is recession-proof.

Q:  What sets The Brothers That Just Do Gutters apart from the customer perspective?

A: From a customer’s perspective, The Brothers Gutters’ mantra is to reinvent contractor service. With that, the training that is conducted for employees ensures that we are solely looking out for the customer’s needs. There are no tricky games or price-gouging techniques that other contractors in the industry have historically used. Our customers know  that they can trust us with every interaction that we have with them.

Q: How would you describe the overall process of becoming a franchisee  to opening and operating in Omaha?

A: The process was fast, but was always organized. We knew exactly what we needed to do after we signed our agreements and immediately got started. We were open for business within two months of staring the onboarding process!

Become your own boss with The Brothers That Just Do Gutters!

Amy
